An extremely severe cyclone Packing winds of up to 190 kmph Wednesday rampaged through coastal Odisha and West-Bengal, dumping heavy rain, swamping homes and farmland. On Wednesday, cyclone Amphan reached West-Bengal and wreaked havoc in the state . At least 12 peoples and ravaged Kolkata and several parts of West-Bengal. The severe cyclone storm made landfall in West-Bengal and caused Severe damages in Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, North and south 24 Parganas districts and their nearby areas, With a wind Speed ranging from 155 to 185 kmph, accompanied by heavy rainfall.The city of  Joy  now  wears and destructive look with waterlogged roads, uprooted trees, broken houses and window Panes among other severity. After making landfall at 2.30 p.m. between Digha in West-Bengal and Hatiya island in Bangladesh, cyclone Amphan cut a swathe through the coastal areas, flattening fragile dwellings, Uprooting trees and electric Poles. at least 6.58 lake people were evacuated in West-Bengal and Odisha before the cyclone Struck.

How kolkata's book heaven college Street has been damaged cyclone Amphan.

     As West-Bengal and Odisha assess the damage and destruction caused by cyclone Amphan, Pictures of a ravaged college street in kolkata are breaking hearts.
College street ar Boi Para as it is locally called,  is considered to be among the largest book markets in Asia. The area derives its name from the colleges and universities in the vicinity.
While it is too soon to make estimates, book worth at last Rs.50 lake 60 lake have been destroyed in  the cyclone.
